In Announcements: Teaching Math Masters Class 2019

By the end of this semester, it is time to say it from the bottom of my heart, I enjoyed every lecture with those great Master's Students.

Tomorrow, they will be educating generations to solve not only math problems but also real-world problems.

Here are the five lessons I  learned from teaching youth.

  1. Engagement is critical: Young people are naturally curious and eager to learn, but they need to be engaged and invested in the material to retain it.

  2. Diversity is essential: It's crucial to understand and respect young people's diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives and incorporate this into your teaching approach.

  3.  Creativity is vital: Young people respond well to creative and hands-on teaching methods that allow them to engage with the material in new and exciting ways.

  4. Patience and persistence are essential: Working with young people can be challenging, but with patience, persistence, and a positive attitude, teachers can help them reach their full potential.

  5. Empathy is essential: Understanding and showing empathy towards young people can help build trust and rapport, leading to a more effective learning experience.
